Cansu CANSEVEN

I graduated from Marmara University with a B.A. degree in Translation and Interpreting Studies in the year 2012. I also studied Literature at Nâzım Hikmet Academy, Istanbul between the years 2012 and 2014. I worked as a translator at the culture and art departments in various newspapers, as the editor of the literary translation magazine, Çevirmenin Notu and the proofreader of Milliyet Sanat and Milliyet Kitap. I completed my first M.A. in Translation Studies in Boğaziçi University in 2015, where I also worked as a research assistant for nearly three years. In my thesis which was published by LAP LAMBERT Academic Publishing in 2015, I focus on the role that translation has played in the introduction and importation of chick lit as a literary genre in the Turkish literary and explores the policies of different publishing houses. I started to work at AnatoliaLit Copyright Agency as a foreign fiction agent in September 2015, immediately after I completed my M.A., wishing to take an active role in the Turkish publishing market. I could not bear the idea of me being non-academic and so started to do my second M.A. in Turkish Language and Literature in Boğaziçi University in 2016. I am also doing interviews with various translators and discussing their translations at K24, an online magazine of literature, culture, and criticism.
